An Autumn Sunday Morning
— at NatElise Studio
A Sunday morning in autumn invites a quieter pace. The air is cooler, softer, scented faintly of crisp leaves . I always find myself moving slower this time of year, drawn to mornings that feel a little more intentional — slower coffee, warm breakfast, and soft layers that make home feel cozy.
Slow Start
The light comes in differently now. Softer, lower. I wake up , no alarm needed, wrapped in the warmth of a blanket. It's still early, but not too early — the kind of hour where the world hasn’t quite started yet.
I put on a pair of slippers and wrap myself in a robe that feels like wearing a hug. The floor is cool underfoot — a subtle contrast to the warmth of the tea I brew next.
This morning it’s a cup of chamomile and rooibos — grounding and floral — made in my ceramic mug that’s just slightly imperfect in the best way. The kettle clicks off softly, and I lean against the kitchen counter while it steeps, taking a moment just to be.
A Seasonal Breakfast
I keep breakfast simple: spiced oatmeal with sliced pear, a drizzle of almond butter, and cinnamon sprinkled on top. It feels seasonal and nourishing, warming me up from the inside.
Sometimes I’ll put on a podcast — Mel Robbins is my go to at the moment. The windows stay cracked open just a bit, letting in that crisp autumn air that feels both nostalgic and new.
Gentle Beauty
Autumn skin asks for a little more care. After a quick shower, I reach for a body oil that smells faintly of neroli and sandalwood, pressing it in before the steam fully fades. It’s become part of my routine this season — a simple step that turns the everyday into something more elevated.
My skincare stays minimal, but intentional. A milky cleanser, a few drops of hydrating serum, and a barrier cream that feels almost cushiony on the skin. I skip makeup today — just a brow gel and a swipe of tinted lip balm that adds a little polish without the effort.
Hair goes up in a claw clip, the kind that holds just right, and I slip into a matching knit set I’ve been living in lately. It’s cozy, structured enough to feel put-together, and soft in a way that makes you want to stay in it all day.

A Quiet Moment
I bring my coffee to the window and sit for a while with a book I’ve been slowly working through — the kind you don’t rush, full of underlines and folded corners. Sometimes I’ll light a candle — usually something woodsy, with notes of cedar and dried fig — just to welcome the season a little deeper into the room.
Eventually, I’ll open my laptop and do a bit of light journaling or map out the week ahead. There’s no pressure — just a slow ease into the day, the kind that reminds you that not every moment has to be productive to be meaningful.
A Morning that Feels Like a Reset
There’s no rush on mornings like this. No strict routine, no long to-do list — just small moments that make the day feel beautiful from the inside out. It’s these quiet autumn Sundays that tend to linger the longest in my memory. The ones that feel simple but full, soft but intentional.
And maybe that’s the point — to let the season shape us in subtle ways. To move slower. To listen a little closer. To soften the edges of our days, just enough to feel the shift.
Until next time.
